Me (Ukrainian) & my wife (Russian) – residing in Texas

My name is Yuriy Popko. I was born in the former Soviet Union (in what is now an independent country called Ukraine) and immigrated to the United States of America shortly after the USSR collapsed in 1989. There we settled in Sacramento, California – where one of the largest evangelical Slavic communities in the nation resides, and by God’s providence I met my beautiful wife, Diana, marrying her in 2013. Since then, the Lord has blessed us with a son and shortly after we decided to move to Texas for the purpose of reform.

As Christians who professes belief in the one and only true God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, we intend for our faith to be the most defining aspect of us and strive to live up to that calling of a faithful servant, as followers and disciples of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, without whom we amount to nothing. The Word of God revealed in the Holy Scriptures teaches us first to become willing servants of the cross, through which only we are able to become the men and women God intends for us to be, and therefore hope to bring Him glory in all that we do with the time we have been given upon the earth.
